Foreign-owned businesses and company officers can now complete almost all ASIC paper-form lodgements electronically after the regulator expanded email lodgement to cover 97% of its paper-based forms.
The change is expected to reduce administrative burdens and speed up processing times for more than 32,000 annual lodgements that previously required traditional paper-based submission methods.
ASIC enabled email lodgement for an additional 42 forms and sub-forms in its latest simplification release on 23 June. The newly eligible forms include company reinstatements, foreign company accounts, contact address appointments, court orders, and several correction and resolution notices that are not currently available through ASIC's online services.
The update marks a significant expansion of ASIC's digital lodgement capabilities. Previous releases introduced in 2025 and March 2026 increased email access to around 70% of paper forms. With the latest changes, nearly all paper-based ASIC forms can now be lodged electronically.
For international businesses, particularly those managing ongoing compliance obligations, the move offers a faster and more efficient alternative to postal lodgement. ASIC said email submissions reduce manual handling and can improve turnaround times.
The initiative forms part of ASIC's broader regulatory simplification agenda, which aims to modernise interactions with the regulator while reducing compliance-related administrative work for businesses and their advisers.
Postal lodgement remains available for customers who prefer traditional submission methods. ASIC has published a complete list of forms eligible for email lodgement on its website.
