Rukshani Perera earns governance certification
ABN Australia’s Corporate Services Manager, Rukshani Perera, has successfully completed her Certificate in Governance Practice, further strengthening her expertise in corporate compliance and governance while balancing work, study and family commitments.

Rukshani got inspired to pursue the certification to deepen her understanding of governance and compliance, essential aspects of managing corporate secretarial processes. "When I started my role, I understood its depth, and my manager, Ian, always motivated me, instilling the idea that there’s a path to progress. One key aspect of advancing is having the right qualifications while learning on the job," she said.
She credits ABN Australia’s supportive and flexible work culture for enabling her to achieve this milestone. "ABN Australia has been extremely supportive by laying the foundation and encouraging me to pursue this certification. Their support was a major motivating factor for me to complete it," Rukshani added.

Balancing work, study and family was challenging, but Rukshani successfully managed it through time management and discipline, allowing her to complete the course ahead of schedule.
The certification enhances her ability to contribute to ABN Australia’s commitment to high governance standards and compliance. "The theoretical knowledge resonated with my day-to-day tasks, particularly around directors’ duties, risk treatments and understanding the Corporations Act," she explained.
Looking ahead, Rukshani remains committed to continuous learning and professional growth. She is eager to explore further qualifications in governance and compliance to continue growing and contributing to ABN Australia's success.
